5th May 2020: BMLL Technologies, the data and analytics firm, today announced the completion of their management team restructure. Having made a series of senior appointments over the last few months, BMLL is now ideally placed to execute on their growth strategies and make their data and analytics products available to a wide range of market participants.

This follows the appointment of Paul Humphrey as the new CEO of BMLL in January 2020, when the firm also closed its latest funding round, bringing the total amount raised to $25m. Paul Humphrey joined BMLL to drive the scale up of the business and realise the firm's mission to democratise access to granular market data and analytical products at speed and scale.

Nigel Medhurst joined BMLL as Chief Financial Officer. An experienced CFO and successful entrepreneur with a strong track record in the fintech sector, Nigel has extensive experience in building businesses, fund-raising and managing growth strategies.

Aneta Blazyczek joined as Head of People at BMLL. With over a decade of professional experience gained in both public and private sector, Aneta’s expertise spans global talent acquisition, succession planning, the development and implementation of performance management strategies, and company culture.

William L’Heveder was promoted to COO and Elliot Banks promoted to Chief Product Officer. William previously served as Director of Strategic Development at BMLL. He joined the firm from the Boston Consulting Group where he spent 5 years advising capital markets clients. Elliot is responsible for the product development roadmap and delivery. He works with clients and development teams to deliver BMLL analytics into clients’ trading environments.

Over the last 6 months BMLL has also recently appointed its former CEO Johannes Sulzberger as NED and industry veteran Lee Hodgkinson as Chairman of the Board.

Finally, the team restructure has seen the departure of Hugh Christensen, the founder of BMLL Technologies. Lee Hodgkinson, Chairman of the board, said on behalf of BMLL: “Over the course of the last decade, BMLL has gone from being a concept in a science laboratory at the University of Cambridge, to being one of the most respected firms in the field of financial data and analytics. Hugh’s vision of a global platform enabling data analytics on limit order book data has been very successfully implemented and Hugh has been a key member of the team which has achieved this. As he now steps away from the business to pursue different ideas and concepts, we wish him success in the future."

Hugh Christensen, founder of BMLL, added: “After ten years of being involved in the BMLL project and six years after incorporating BMLL, I have decided the time has come to step away from BMLL and seek a new challenge. This has been a hugely enjoyable and demanding period of my life. I leave knowing that the Company has never been in better hands under the direction of the newly appointed leadership team, headed up by Lee Hodgkinson and Paul Humphrey. I remain a committed supporter of the business.”

Paul Humphrey, CEO of BMLL, also added: "I have joined BMLL at a very exciting time for the business. We have an incredibly talented team of technologists, data scientists and market practitioners, led by Ben Collins, our Head of Sales, and David Robinson our CTO. With their expertise and dedication I am very positive that we will be able to deliver on our scale and growth strategy, to make our data and analytics capabilities available to a much wider segment of the market."
